Implicit Bias Training - May 22nd - Via Zoom

This three-hour training being held via Zoom from 9:30am to 12:30pm is for healthcare professionals and will address implicit bias in patient care. Explore and confront implicit bias to ensure equitable and empathetic treatment for all.


Presented by: Lucy Mercier, PhD, LMSW is Director of the Master of Social Work program at SVSU and a frequent presenter on topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion for education, health, and mental health professionals.        In addition to her clinical, teaching, and administrative work, Dr. Mercier is a Mental Health First Aid trainer and often works with community agencies to support staff training and development.


FREE training includes:

  • Recognize occurrences of implicit bias in health care settings  

  • Identify a minimum of 3 consequences of implicit bias for access to effective patient care  

  • Learn at least 2 strategies to reduce disparities in service based on implicit bias.
